Privacy & cookies

A short, plain-English summary of what Boot Room stores about you.

What we collect

  • Game data. When you submit a teamsheet we keep your picks, formation, score, and the timestamp.
  • Identity (optional). If you sign in with email, we store your email address linked to your Cognito account so you can play across devices.
  • Display name & avatar. What you set in the account modal. You can change either at any time.
  • Analytics (with consent). If you accept analytics cookies, we capture anonymized page views and clicks via PostHog (EU region). This helps us see what's working and what isn't.

Cookies & storage

  • bootroom_uid: a random device identifier so you can play as a guest. Required.
  • bootroom_session: your sign-in token after authenticating. Required.
  • bootroom_consent_v1 (localStorage): remembers your cookie choice so we don't ask again.
  • ph_* (PostHog): only set if you've accepted analytics. Cleared if you revoke.

Where the data lives

Game data and account profiles are stored in AWS DynamoDB and Cognito in the London (eu-west-2) region. Analytics events go to PostHog EU (Frankfurt). We retain your game data indefinitely so historical leaderboards stay correct; email us to request deletion.

Manage your choice

You can change your analytics consent at any time.
